Job Summary
The technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems in residential environments. Strong knowledge of piping systems and components, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in varying conditions are essential for this role. The technician will work closely with contractors and clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Follow blueprints and installation instructions to correctly place and configure equipment.
• Install and set up plumbing systems for water supply, and waste disposal in new and existing spaces.
• Install, maintain and repair piping systems, water heaters, faucets, garbage disposals, toilets, and other plumbing components to local codes.
• Perform routine maintenance on residential plumbing equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshooting plumbing issues.
• Ensure systems and all their components function correctly while adhering to both local and national plumbing codes and regulations.
• Conduct system start-ups and performance test in accordance with the manufactures specifications.
• Follow all company, state, and federal safety protocols and guidelines.
• Work with clients, contractors, engineers, managers, dispatchers and other tradespeople while performing this job.
• Perform service calls and clearly communicate with clients about the work being performed and address any questions that they may have.
• Communicate with clients and supervisors to ensure that the work meets their specifications and expectations.
• Maintain accurate records of all installations, including materials used, hours worked, and any issues encountered.
• Provide written reports and documentation to dispatch and managers detailing installation progress and system performance.
• Attend training sessions and classes, either on the job or through a trade school program, to expand knowledge in the industry, including regulations and safety protocols.
