Laser Application Engineer (CAD & Production)

Design and produce product samples using CAD software and laser equipment while supporting product development, fabrication, and customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Design & Product Development

• Prepare production drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software
• Design and create prototypes, product samples, and demonstration pieces
• Modify and optimize customer artwork and technical drawings for production

Laser Equipment Operation

• Set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting and laser engraving equipment
• Perform machine calibration and parameter adjustments for different materials
• Conduct testing and quality inspection on completed products

Product Applications & Innovation

• Develop new applications and product ideas using laser technology
• Produce marketing and demonstration samples for customer presentations
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams on product development initiatives
• Contribute innovative ideas for new products and applications

Technical Support

• Provide technical guidance on machine settings and production parameters
• Assist customers with material selection and application requirements
• Support product demonstrations and training sessions when required

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or related disciplines
• Experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD software
• Experience operating laser cutting, laser engraving, CNC, or fabrication equipment preferred
• Strong hands-on technical aptitude
• Interest in product development, prototyping, and fabrication
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in the following will have an advantage:

• Laser cutting or laser engraving machinery
• CNC machining
• Fabrication workshops
• Product prototyping
• Manufacturing environments
• Signage, customization, or industrial production industries
