Laundry Attendant

Position Statement:

Responsible for sorting, washing, drying, pressing and folding items such as room linen, table linen, rags, cleaning cloths etc.

Position Summary:

• Collect and sorts dirty linen.
• Sort, wash, dry, press, and fold linen and terry products.
• Sorts soiled linen, i.e. sheets, pillowcases, towels, napkins, blankets etc. into piles by type and color
• Remove stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
• Perform minor sewing duties.
• Deliver clean products to Guest floors and remove dirty products and return to laundry.
• Weigh and track all items washed and distributed.
• Loads washer/extractor machines and activates pre-set program wash cycle.
• Manually unloads washed items into laundry carts.
• Moves carts containing linen to dryer machines and loads machines according to individual linen program.
• Loads laundry carts uniformly; towels, sheets, napkins etc.
• Checks chemical supply linens to ensure adequate chemicals supply to each machine.
• Stocks linen carts according to floor requirements
• Cleans and mops department floor whenever needed.
• Ensure dryer lint trap is clean before and end of shift.
• Use chemicals and cleaning agents in accordance with product instructions and safety standards.
• Clear terry and linen from laundry shoot daily.
• Keep an updated inventory of laundry detergents and sewing kits.
• Have sound knowledge of all facilities and services offered by the property.
  
• Assist in performing monthly inventory.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the Basement and Public Areas as directed.
  
• Work all AM, PM, and graveyard shifts as scheduled.
• Ensure your workspace is cleaned and sanitized as directed by Goldwynn. (These processes may change from time to time based on seasonality or recommendations from Health and Safety.)
• Practice good hygiene prior to reporting to work and when returning to your assigned workstation. This includes, but is not limited to: washing your hands, avoid touching your face, limiting unnecessary physical contact with others, coughing/sneezing into a tissue or the inside of your elbow, and disinfecting frequently used items and surfaces in your work area as directed by Management using company provided cleaning products.
• Wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment such as masks or gloves from time to time as directed by Goldwynn.
• Always comply with Goldwynn standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• To carry out any reasonable tasks requested by the Director of Housekeeping and Public Areas, Housekeeping Supervisors or any member of senior leadership.
