Laundry Attendant - Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Laundry Attendant I is a critical member of the Saracen Team and under the supervision of the Laundry Supervisor, the laundry Attendant I will be assisting in the laundry department while leading by example with washing, drying, sorting, folding, transporting and distribution of all hotel and table linens. Laundry Attendant I performs the above-mentioned duties to ensure adequate supply of linens are available to meet the demand of the hotel and the food and beverage departments so they can always deliver a high level of service for the hotel and casino guests. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, internal control standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Laundry Operations:

• Sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry items such as towels, sheets, and guest laundry.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use appropriate detergents and chemicals according to the hotel’s standards and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the laundry room, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.

Quality Control:

• Inspect linens and laundry items for stains, tears, or damage and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Ensure that all laundry is properly folded, ironed, and stored for easy access and distribution.
• Ensure all laundry meets hotel cleanliness standards and is presented neatly to guests.

Inventory Management:

• Ensure the proper handling and storage of laundry equipment and materials.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Follow all hotel health and safety policies and procedures, including the proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents.
• Adhere to hygiene practices, ensuring that laundry is clean and safe for guest use.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with the housekeeping team to ensure the efficient flow of linen and guest laundry.
• Communicate any issues, concerns, or special requests to the supervisor in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
• Skills:
  • Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect laundry items for quality.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy laundry loads (up to 25–50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of laundry chemicals and equipment safety.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads of laundry.
• Must be able to work in a hot, noisy environment.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as needed for various laundry tasks.

• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
