Laundry Manager - Fairmont Agra

  • Oversee the daily operations of the laundry department, ensuring efficient processing of all guest and operational linens
  • Supervise, train, and manage laundry staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, quality, and presentation for all linens and garments
  • Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures to ensure compliance with hotel standards and guest expectations
  • Manage inventory levels of linens, uniforms, and cleaning supplies, ensuring adequate stock whilst minimising waste
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure timely delivery and collection of laundry items
  • Monitor and maintain all laundry equipment, arranging for regular servicing and repairs to prevent operational disruptions
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, controlling costs whilst maintaining service quality
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and waste disposal
  • Create and optimise work schedules to meet departmental demands and operational requirements
  • Conduct regular staff appraisals and performance reviews, identifying training needs and development opportunities
  • Prepare detailed reports on departmental performance, including productivity metrics and cost analysis
  • Liaise with external laundry service providers when required, ensuring service level agreements are met
  • Implement sustainable practices and eco-friendly initiatives within the laundry operations
  • Address guest complaints related to laundry services promptly and professionally, ensuring resolution and satisfaction
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in laundry management
  • Proven track record of managing laundry operations in a hotel or large-scale institutional setting
  • Strong knowledge of laundry equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, training, and performance management
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control procedures
  • Sound understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to laundry operations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across departments
  • Proficiency in using laundry management software and basic computer applications
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends as required
  • Hospitality management qualification or relevant certification in laundry operations
  • Experience with sustainable and eco-friendly laundry practices
