Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Laredo Sector Headquarters, Targeting and Intelligence Division, located in Laredo, TX. This position provides direct support to law enforcement officers with real-time communication, intelligence, and information from law enforcement systems. This position starts at a salary of $52,413.00 (GS-7, Step 1) to $83,349.00 (GS-9, Step 10). GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. The Law Enforcement Information Systems Specialist provides multi-faceted analysis products include reports and real-time communication in support of intelligence and law enforcement operations. Duties and responsibilities include: Intelligence gathering/analysis; creating intelligence reports based on extrapolated data, research, and analysis; analyzing tactical intelligence to produce reports impacting real-time enforcement operations within the Agency and other law enforcement agencies. Video/Sensor Analysis: analyzing tactical surveillance video and imagery in conjunction with sensor alerts and other resources to detect and identify threats and incursions entering the U.S., relaying that information to agents in real-time. GIS Analysis: providing law enforcement with rapid access to historical activity data to provide situational awareness and aid in operational effectiveness. Database Analysis: utilizing a variety of law enforcement information systems to conduct data mining and analysis; assisting law enforcement with determining identity, citizenship, and criminal history ensuring officer safety.
