Christian Children & Youth Ministry Worker
Job Description
• Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Children & Youth Ministry of the church
• Planning and coordination of weekly Children & Youth Ministry services
• Teaching and preparation of curriculum materials for the Children and Youth Ministry
• Organizing and leading the Children & Youth Ministry events / camps / outreach programmes / mission trips
• Befriending and discipling children and youth groups
• Collaborating with the Children & Youth ministry committees through meetings held
• Attending and supporting all church wide events. These include church camps, evangelistic meetings, prayer meetings, etc.
Job Requirements
• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any one of the following fields - Theology, children/youth work, counselling, education, psychology, or social work
• At least 3 years of relevant experience serving in the Children/Youth Ministry or working with children between 2 to 19
• Good interpersonal skills with students and adults, willingness and maturity to work in a multi-dimensional environment which will include church and school leaders and staff, and other stakeholders
• Able to reach, teach, engage, connect with and provide support and care for children and youth
• Proficiency in worship leading, singing or playing musical instruments; the use of social media applications, sound and video production will be helpful
• Strong organizational, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with IT (including the use of internet, email, word processing and presentation software)
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Strong team player
• Responsible and dependable
• Able to work on Saturdays and Sundays
