le AS400 QA (RETAIL EXP MANDATORY)

As an AS400 QA, you will be responsible for testing retail applications with DB2 as the database, validating end-to-end business processes, and ensuring application quality through functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing support.

You will provide quality assurance support for retail applications and coordinate with business, development, and integrated application teams to ensure all solutions meet functional requirements, quality standards, and business expectations.

Core Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing of AS400/iSeries applications within the Retail domain.

• Strong experience in creating test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test execution documentation.

• Hands-on experience validating applications developed using RPG/RPGLE, CL programs, and DB2 databases.

• Experience in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, End-to-End Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.

• Strong knowledge of SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.

• Ability to analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and technical documentation to create comprehensive test coverage.

• Experience in defect logging, tracking, prioritization, and resolution using Jira or similar tools.

• Ability to coordinate with development, business, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely defect resolution.

• Knowledge of SDLC and STLC processes, testing methodologies, and quality standards.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to write clear, concise, and logical testing documentation.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience testing Retail Merchandising, Inventory Management, Pricing, Sales Audit, Warehouse Management, and Point of Sale (POS) applications.

• Knowledge of Web Services, API testing, XML, JSON, and file-based integrations.

• Experience validating batch jobs, interfaces, and AS400 job scheduling processes.

• Familiarity with AS400 job monitoring, spool files, and production support processes.

• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban delivery models.

• Exposure to test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira.

• Prior experience working in an onsite-offshore delivery model.

• Strong understanding of retail business processes and end-to-end retail transaction flows.

• Experience with data reconciliation, integration testing, and production validation activities.

• Exposure to test automation frameworks and tools will be an added advantage.
