Responsibilities:

- Oversees the shift-to-shift responsibilities of the registration staff. Prepares the Department schedule, accepts sick calls as needed and modifies the schedule accordingly. Serves as a resource for employees in regards to all pertinent software applications. Covers any areas in the Admitting Department to assure throughput by completing the necessary tasks.
- Completes reports as assigned.
- Assists with the training of department employees, collaborates with the Market trainers to assure ongoing training within the department.
- Performs registrations in order to stay current on system requirements and ease of use.
- Stays current with knowledge for HIPAA, Federal regulations, state regulations, hospital policy and reimbursement criteria. Attends departmental meetings in order to enhance communications within departments.
- Attends payer in-services (as assigned) and departmental meetings in order to enhance communications and public relation skills. Participates in process improvement activities.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associates in related healthcare field Preferred
- 2 years registration/financial counseling/patient account collections or equivalent with an emphasis on customer service. Required
- 3 years healthcare or hospital registration experience or patient financial counseling Preferred
- 3 years minimum experience required. Preferred
