Lead Analytics Engineer

This is a senior analytics engineering opportunity focused on shaping the future of data and analytics for major video game experiences.
You will work within a cross-disciplinary engineering environment to scale analytics platforms and expand their capabilities.
Your work will help game development teams use reliable, performant data throughout the game development lifecycle.
You will own data models for specific game titles while partnering closely with analysts, engineers, and studio teams.
The role combines advanced SQL, modern data modeling, Big Data technologies, and strong software engineering practices.
You will also help evolve technologies such as dbt and Airflow to support consistent, testable, and efficient analytics workflows.

Accountabilities:
- Build and evolve analytics data models: Develop and maintain efficient, consistent data models that enable reliable and performant querying across game analytics workloads.
- Support new game launches: Contribute to the data foundations required for new game titles, ensuring analytics teams have the models and telemetry needed to generate meaningful insights.
- Partner with game studios: Work directly with game development teams and data analysts to design, validate, and refine appropriate in-game telemetry and data structures.
- Own game-specific data solutions: Take end-to-end ownership of data models for assigned game titles, ensuring they meet performance, consistency, quality, and usability expectations.
- Expand modern data tooling: Help implement and scale technologies such as dbt and Airflow in ways that are appropriate for complex analytics and gaming use cases.
- Promote engineering quality: Apply repeatable, testable, and maintainable approaches to database development, with a strong focus on quality, validation, and reliable data pipelines.
- Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with analytics, engineering, and game studio stakeholders to translate business and analytical needs into scalable technical data solutions.
- Analytics engineering experience: Strong experience working with data or analytics engineering, with a proven ability to build reliable data solutions for complex analytical use cases.
- Advanced SQL: Excellent SQL skills, particularly with analytics and OLAP databases such as Amazon Redshift or comparable technologies.
- Data modeling: Hands-on experience implementing and using modern data modeling tools such as dbt or SQLMesh, with a strong understanding of how to structure models for performance, consistency, and maintainability.
- Requirements translation: Demonstrated ability to transform business, analytical, and stakeholder needs into clear data model requirements and effective technical solutions.
- Big Data interest: Enthusiasm for large-scale data projects and modern data technologies, with the ability and motivation to deepen expertise in this area.
- Engineering quality: Strong commitment to quality and an interest in repeatable, testable, maintainable, and test-driven approaches to database and analytics development.
- Technical toolkit: Experience with Python, AWS Glue, Git, Liquibase, Airflow, or similar technologies is an advantage.
- Education: A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is a plus.
- Gaming knowledge: Familiarity with AAA game development, modern console games, or game analytics is highly desirable.
- Collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, analytics, and game development teams.
