Position Summary: Assists with daily workflow, acts as a resource person for cash posting staff. Responsible to ensure all receipting, recording, balancing, and posting of payments received from insurance companies, patients, etc. Reconciles the daily deposit, reviews and prepares transfer of monies in a timely fashion, and acts as a liaison to accounting department. Acts as primary trainer for new cash posting staff and provides feedback to Supervisors. Acts as primary backup person to fill in, temporarily, to cover for staff illness, vacation, etc.

Education/Training: High School diploma and some college and/or Associates Degree required. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Experience: At least two years cashier, cash posting, accounting or related position required. Strong accounting background preferred and demonstrated problem-solving skills. Knowledge of computers and business office machines required. Knowledge of computers and business office machines required. Knowledge of insurance companies required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, with a required skill of Microsoft Excel.

Licensure, Registration or Certification: Preferred Certification of Billing, PFS or coding through credited bodies such as HFMA, AHIMA, HBI, etc
