Job Title: Lead Automation Tester (Playwright)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Automation Tester with strong expertise in Playwright to lead the quality engineering efforts across web and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable test automation frameworks, defining QA strategies, leading automation initiatives, mentoring QA engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software through continuous testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks using Playwright.

• Define and implement QA automation strategies aligned with business and technical objectives.

• Drive automation coverage across functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end test scenarios.

• Review requirements, user stories, and technical designs to identify testability and quality risks early in the SDLC.

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for web applications.

• Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines and release processes.

• Perform root cause analysis on defects and collaborate closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.

• Establish quality metrics, reporting mechanisms, and automation best practices.

• Mentor and provide technical leadership to QA engineers and automation testers.

• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness reviews.

• Promote quality engineering practices, shift-left testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Drive test environment, test data, and automation infrastructure management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• 7+ years of software testing experience, with at least 4+ years focused on automation testing.

• Strong hands-on experience building automation frameworks using Playwright.

• Extensive knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Experience leading QA teams or serving as a technical lead on automation initiatives.

• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.

• Experience with test strategy creation, estimation, planning, and execution.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience automating enterprise-scale web applications.

• Hands-on experience with API automation and contract testing.

• Experience implementing automation within CI/CD environments.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or similar QA certifications.

• Experience working within highly regulated industries such as Banking, Fintech, Insurance, or Healthcare.

• Exposure to performance and security testing practices.
