Our client, a rapidly scaling tech company building innovative solutions for the agricultural sector, is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer. This is a **fully remote** opportunity, allowing you to contribute to a mission-driven company from anywhere in the world. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and APIs that power their platform. This role involves leading a team of backend engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the backend systems. Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and robust backend systems and APIs.
- Mentor and guide a team of backend engineers, fostering their technical growth and productivity.
- Define and implement backend architectural patterns and best practices.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code in languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Implement and manage database solutions (SQL and/or No SQL).
- Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of backend services.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and trends.
- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role.
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Go).
- Extensive experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of database design and management (e.g., Postgre SQL, My SQL, Mongo DB).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, essential for a remote team.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
