Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year
Requirements:
- We are looking for a passionate data engineering leader with deep expertise in AWS and modern cloud-native data platforms.
- We need hands‑on experience designing and delivering scalable data solutions, including data lakehouse architectures, transformation pipelines, serverless technologies, relational databases, and Infrastructure as Code.
- We value experience working with strategic third‑party technology and modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automation, and cloud security.
- We are looking for strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate complex concepts into practical solutions that drive business value.
- AWS certifications, particularly in Data Engineering or Data Architecture, are highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and adoption of our modern AWS cloud‑native data platform.
- Own our data lakehouse platform and design and deliver scalable data solutions, pipelines, and services.
- Work closely with engineering, governance, security, and risk teams to ensure our data is trusted, compliant, and delivers real business value.
- Champion data engineering best practices with data peers across our technology function.
- Mentor colleagues on emerging cloud, AI, and machine learning technologies.
- Help ensure our data platform is secure, reliable, and cost‑effective.
- Shape a new capability and influence organisation‑wide decisions as part of our five‑year digital transformation strategy.
