Lead Completions Engineer
Position Overview:
The Lead Completions Engineer supports front-end planning for construction-driven execution to ensure that all systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned according to project specifications and standards. This role manages the transition from construction to operations by verifying mechanical completion and supporting start-up activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
· Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams for seamless handover.
· Define system boundaries and prepare system turnover packages.
· Monitor mechanical completion progress and verify readiness for commissioning.
· Manage punch list activities and ensure timely closure.
· Maintain accurate documentation in completions management systems (CMS).
· Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning tests (pressure tests, functional checks).
· Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during testing.
· Validate system performance against design specifications.
· Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives during commissioning.
· Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
· Participate in progress meetings and provide status updates.
· Prepare final handover documentation for operations.
· Ensure all commissioning records, test reports, and certificates are complete.
· Support training for operations personnel.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
· Minimum 10 years and above of experience in commissioning and completions, with focus on large-scale infrastructure/energy projects (onshore or offshore).
· Knowledge of commissioning procedures for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
· Familiarity with completions management software (e.g., CMS, ICAPS, WinPCS).
· Understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
· Certification in Commissioning Management or Project Controls preferred.
