Lead Custodian

Primary Purpose:
Supervise the campus custodial operations by assisting the supervisor to establish and
follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of
safety, cleanliness and efficiency of building operations. Coordinate activities and school
functions with principal/asst. principal requests regarding custodial duties. During
project periods (cleaning of walls, lights, windows, floors, etc.) act as the leader for the
custodians assigned to the school or building.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrate leadership ability in working in a custodial department.
Experience:
Three years experience in the custodian service industry.
Salary: PG4 / 240 days
Starting at $15.50 per hour.

Must be self-motivated.
Must be able to rotate school/campus when needed.
Ability to follow instructions.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work well with diverse employee groups.
Ability to demonstrate organizational skills.
Ability to read and understand/teach instructions for cleaning and safety procedures.
Strong knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with the work.
Knowledge of minor repair techniques on custodial equipment.
Ability to teach/operate cleaning equipment.
Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies and maintain custodial inventory.
Must be able to rotate school/campus when needed.
