Lead Data Engineer

We’re looking for a Bilingual Lead Data Engineer in Bogota to drive the architecture, scalability, reliability, and quality of our data platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, building scalable data solutions, and mentoring engineers while driving technical excellence.

What You’ll Do

• Lead data architecture and engineering decisions across our GCP data platform.
• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ELT workflows.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery data models to power analytics and business intelligence.
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, monitoring, security, and data governance.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Analytics, Data Science, and cross‑functional teams.
• Improve platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Significant experience in Data Engineering, ideally as a Technical Lead, Senior Engineer, or Data Architect.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Hands‑on experience with Cloud Run, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and production environments.
• Proven technical leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
• Full bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

What We Offer

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
• Work Model: Primarily on‑site, with some work‑from‑home days.
• Additional Benefits

Nice to Have: Python, Looker/LookML, CI/CD, automated data testing, and experience with high-volume event‑based data such as GA4.
