Lead Data Engineer (GCP)

As Lead Data Engineer, you will own the design and deployment of scalable, cloud-based data infrastructure on GCP, guiding a small data engineering team. You’ll build robust pipelines with Python, Snowflake, and Databricks to integrate data into business processes and support pricing, market analysis, and investment decisions. You’ll implement CI/CD practices to ensure reliable data solutions. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with shaping data-driven strategy in a sustainability-focused organization.

• Own end-to-end design and development of scalable cloud-based data infrastructure (GCP)
• Lead, mentor, and grow the existing data engineering team (2 engineers)
• Build and optimise data pipelines using Python, Snowflake, and Databricks for business integration
• Drive CI/CD practices to improve reliability and efficiency in the data lifecycle
• Develop data models that inform pricing decisions, market analysis, and investment strategies

• Deep expertise in GCP with BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Functions
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with JavaScript for cross-functional collaboration
• Strong background in Snowflake and Databricks
