Lead Data Engineer
We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to bring additional expertise and insight to our approximately 20‑person Data as a Service team, part of Veikkaus’ TECH organization. This is a permanent, full‑time position focused on data engineering, leadership, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing data solutions
- Design, build, and deploy new data pipelines and platform components
- Continuously develop team practices, tools, and processes
- Guide daily work and support the implementation of changes
- Lead the team in technical data processing initiatives
- Work across the full data lifecycle: integration, transformation, storage, and delivery for analytics

- SQL
- GCP and native services (e.g., BigQuery)
- Kafka

- Pentaho (PDI)
- DBT
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in data engineering or related roles, with a senior or lead track record
- Deep technical understanding of data architecture and ability to inspire a team
- Passion for technical data processing and continuous improvement
- Strong leadership skills and ability to guide others and align stakeholders
- Experience with agile methods and appreciation for long‑term development
- Team player with clear English communication skills
