About the Role

A leading global organization is transforming technology into a strategic capability that accelerates business value. We’re seeking an experienced Lead Data Solution Architect to drive the end-to-end data architecture roadmap for Global Wealth & Asset Management (GWAM) Asia.

This role is responsible for shaping and delivering the target-state architecture across data ingestion, curation, common data models, data products, and consumption—partnering closely with cross-functional delivery teams and regional/global business and technology stakeholders.

The platform is built on a Databricks Lakehouse and Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks SQL Warehouse, and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the GWAM Asia data architecture roadmap, aligned to regional priorities and enterprise technology strategy.

  • Architect scalable solutions across the full data lifecycle: integration, ingestion, curation, storage, common data models, semantic layers, reporting, analytics, GenAI, and business-facing data products.

  • Translate business goals into target-state architectures, including solution options, data requirements, integration patterns, and phased roadmaps.

  • Lead design reviews, provide technical sign-off, and guide cross-functional teams.

  • Define and standardize technical approaches for data pipelines, lakehouse design, APIs, DevSecOps, observability, security, resilience, and operational support.

  • Oversee enterprise data models and design role-based access control (RBAC) aligned with least-privilege principles.

  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise expectations for data governance, cybersecurity, risk, audit, and application performance.

  • Maintain architecture artifacts and decision records, drive continuous improvement, and lead targeted proofs of concept for emerging technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data architecture, solution architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platforms, with accountability for complex design decisions.

  • Strong experience designing enterprise data lakes, lakehouse platforms, and scalable cloud data solutions.

  • Hands-on architecture experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Spark/PySpark, Python, SQL, Databricks SQL Warehouse, and Microsoft Fabric/Power BI, plus practical experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

  • Experience delivering batch and streaming pipelines, ETL/ELT, APIs, cloud integration, reporting, analytics, and data products.

  • Knowledge of GenAI patterns, including prompt engineering, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), vectorization, and similarity search.

  • Experience designing RBAC and implementing least-privilege access across cloud data platforms and data products.

  • Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud security, data protection, monitoring, and operational resilience.

  • Proven ability to lead design discussions, resolve complex issues, and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, insurance, or asset management across Asia markets.

  • Knowledge of data governance and supporting practices, including metadata, master/reference data, data quality, lineage, data contracts, and control frameworks.

  • Experience with data products, MLOps, event-driven patterns, Change Data Capture (CDC), or containerized architectures.

  • Relevant Azure, Databricks, data architecture, GenAI, or Azure AI certifications.
