About the role
We are looking for an experienced Data Tester Lead to oversee data testing activities and ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability of data across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ETL testing, data validation, SQL, data warehousing, and test management, along with leadership experience managing QA teams and coordinating with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders.
Generic responsibilities:
Lead and manage data testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Develop and implement data testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
Perform and oversee ETL testing, data validation, data reconciliation, and data integrity testing across source and target systems.
Validate data transformation rules, data mappings, data pipelines, and data warehouse processes using SQL queries and scripts.
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and quality across data lakes, data warehouses, and reporting platforms.
Lead testing activities for data integration, migration, extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
Conduct functional testing, regression testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as required.
Manage defect identification, logging, tracking, prioritization, and resolution in collaboration with developers and data engineering teams.
Review test results, analyze data discrepancies, and provide recommendations to resolve data quality issues.
Coordinate with data engineers, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in QA testing, data testing, or ETL testing.
At least 2–3 years of experience leading or supervising data testing teams.
Strong experience in ETL testing, data warehousing, data validation, and data reconciliation.
Advanced knowledge of SQL for data verification, complex queries, and source-to-target validation.
Experience creating test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.
Hands-on experience with data integration, data migration, and data pipeline testing.
Experience with defect management and testing tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex data discrepancies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
