Lead Dev / Senior Full-stack

Salary: $600,000 – $800,000 per year

About the role

You're the hands-on technical lead for our middleware – the hub through which products, prices, orders and production data flow between systems. You ship code yourself and lead by example rather than only by assigning it, while coaching two developers in Hong Kong, acting as the technical bridge to the digital team in Pforzheim, and working directly with the Chief Digital Officer on architecture and priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and ship the middleware architecture and its APIs yourself – you're in the codebase daily, not only reviewing it

• Integrate ERP, PIM, e-commerce platforms and production systems into reliable data flows

• Lead and coach two developers through pairing, code review and example, not just process

• Be the main technical interface to the Pforzheim digital team and external partners

• Reduce technical debt and keep systems secure, monitored and maintainable

About you

• 7+ years of backend development, including at least 2 years leading or mentoring developers while staying hands-on in the code

• Strong experience with system integration, APIs and data synchronisation between business systems

• Solid knowledge of Node.js/TypeScript (the middleware's target stack)

• PHP/Laravel experience a plus for the transition period on the legacy platform

• Experience with security, deployment and cloud infrastructure

• Fluent English; Mandarin or Cantonese a strong plus; German a bonus

• Comfortable working across time zones with Europe
