Summary
A hands-on senior/lead DevOps role owning Oscar's Azure cloud estate: driving Terraform/IaC adoption, running Kubernetes, building CI/CD in Azure DevOps, and improving security, observability and disaster recovery. Also supports a cloud separation/migration programme across Azure and GCP. Hybrid working in Birmingham.
In this Senior/Lead role you will own and evolve the company’s Azure cloud estate, driving reliability, security and cost efficiency. You’ll steer IaC adoption and modernise the platform with Kubernetes, CI/CD and automated recovery. You’ll contribute to a cloud separation and migration programme across Azure and GCP, shaping the future of a growing data API and platform. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position with ownership and cross-functional collaboration at its core.

- Own and manage the Azure cloud estate with a focus on security, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Lead adoption of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, bringing existing infrastructure under management
- Operate Kubernetes workloads including deployments, ingress, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting and day-to-day platform operations
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Support cloud migration and separation projects across Azure and GCP
- Design, automate and test disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
- Improve monitoring, alerting and observability across the platform
- Manage cloud security, identity, secrets and certificates
- Provide technical guidance on Azure architecture and platform engineering
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and act as senior technical escalation point
- Collaborate with development and technology teams to improve platform reliability and developer experience
- Senior/Lead level experience in cloud engineering
- Strong Azure experience
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code expertise
