LEAD DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL


The Lead Direct Support Professional serves as a lead on their assigned shift and acts as liaison between the Residential Care Manager and Director Support Professionals, Direct Support and Transportation Professionals assigned to their shift; monitors and oversees overall residential population and activities on their assigned shift. This position is responsible for resident supervision, de-escalation, medication monitoring, assists residents with daily needs and accompanies residents on appointments and outings. This position also assists with daily cleaning around the facility such as laundry, cleaning of communal areas, keeping the front desk clear of debris and clutter, sweeping, and mopping of lobby, vacuuming hallways and carpeted areas. Responsible for conducting security audits including room checks, pat downs and urinalysis.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a liaison between Direct Support Professionals, Director Support and Transportation Professionals and the Residential Care Manager.
  • Communicates shift/task assignments to staff. Ensures completion of Direct Support Professionals and Director Support and Transportation Professional duties including but not limited to: medication administration, room searches, urinalysis testing, and reviews and/or writes Minor, Major, and Critical incident reports.
  • Ensures timely and accurate client documentation. Ensures staff complete all shift-related paperwork and client documentation by the end of shift.
  • Oversees the application and enforcement of Embrave policies and procedures. Provides guidance to staff while communicating directly to Leadership as needed.
  • Notifies Manager of staff performance concerns.
  • Assists in the training, maintenance of competencies, and professional development of Residential Care staff.
  • Travels to pick up meals, medications, or other business needs.
  • Reports maintenance and repair needs for the facility to the Residential Care Coordinator.
  • Ensures supplies i.e. paper towels, cleaning supplies are stocked and communicates re-ordering needs to the Residential Care Coordinator as necessary.
  • Responsible for supervision of residents. Adheres to policies and procedures in maintaining appropriate resident behavior. Utilizes appropriate de-escalation methods when appropriate.
  • Assists in accompanying residents with special needs, physical handicaps, and high acuity mental illness to and from scheduled appointments and outings. Assists residents with boarding and exiting vehicles. Secures residents in seats.
  • Completes housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, sanitizing, taking out garbage and keeping common areas free of clutter and debris.
  • Serves meals to residents.
  • Monitors client medication pass components.
  • Conducts client pat-downs, room searches and urinalysis testing.
  • Promotes and demonstrates the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Embrave.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments, the management team, regulatory agencies and community partners.

  • Responsible for the human, financial, and material resources as well as data and information entrusted to us.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent.

One year of direct support professional experience in a mental health, residential or similar setting.

Colorado QMAP certification.


Saturday through Tuesday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
