Lead Donation Attendant Store - Yorktown

Position Summary
To assist in supervising the operation and activities of a large volume store donation door by demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of production. Maximize efficiency in work methods, truck loading and all other material handling activity. Ensures a “delightful” experience for Goodwill Donors and guarantees that each donation is maximized.

Essential Duties
(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Ensures that all donation attendants are providing excellent customer service.

2. Responsible for training and supervising all donation attendants; taking donations, presorting raw material, raw material organization, ensure first in first out for merchandise rotation, good material vs. trash etc.

3. Constant scrutiny of donation movement process to ensure maximum efficiency and space allocation in the store production area.

4. Maintains open lines of communication with the Transportation Manager, Dock Supervisors, and Drivers.

5. Maintains safe working conditions, reporting and correcting any equipment problems or concerns immediately.

6. Responsible for the security of all donated items.

7. Enforces dress, grooming, and hygiene requirements as required by the Retail Operations Manager. Ensure all Donation Attendants use the proper personal protective equipment provided by Goodwill.

8. Maintains accurate reporting of attendant clock-in/clock-out time, donation counts, and trailer information as required by Management.

9. Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the donation areas that surround the donation door both inside and out.

10. Serves as a positive example by demonstrating good work habits, a positive attitude, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

11. Assists in addressing and correcting attendant nonperformance issues.

12. Assists Retail Operations Manager in maintaining adequate personnel coverage.

13. Monitors supplies, inspect, and repair/replace all equipment used to operate donation doors (i.e. pallet jack, material handling equipment etc.).

14. Monitors truck loading and unloading in line with safety requirements, proper documentation of trailer, correct labeling of material handling equipment.

15. Regularly inspect trailers returned to loading dock and report this information to the Retail Operations Manager.

16. Partners successfully with the Retail Assistant Manager and Retail Lead Associate.

17. Maintains constant communication and consistently report to Retail Operations Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions
• The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• The associate works in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
