Lead Driver

Join our CDL-A driver team "We Haul Wholesome" at Dairy Farmers of America - the leading milk marketing cooperative and dairy food processor within the United States. Our drivers transport raw milk from farm to processing plants. We are passionate about the farmer-owners, the dairy industry, and supplying consumers with safe and nutritious products.

General Purpose: To provide support, problem-solving, and oversight of milk hauler activities based out of the DFA Henderson location. Communicate any problems or needs with management in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies
• Promotes a safety conscious work environment
• Train and coach new and existing drivers in areas of safety, customer service and efficiency
• Provide supervisors and managers with operational support
• Follows dispatch schedule and directions from dispatch and supervisory personnel
• Maintains State issued milk hauler/sampler license and picks up, transports, and delivers milk in accordance with PMO
• Represents DFA positively and professionally during interactions with producers, customers, and regulatory personnel
• Maintains positive communications with producers, listens for issues or potential problems, and reports producers' comments to transportation and member services management
• Resolves issues that arise to ensure timely pickup and delivery of milk to processing plants
• Any other duties assigned by supervision

Bulk Tank Driving Responsibilities:

• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
• Operates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
• Follows designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel

Certified Milk Hauler/Sampler Responsibilities:

• Milk Hauler/Sampler License (issued by State health department)
• Transfers raw milk from farm containers to trailer
• Takes quality and control samples at farm
• Measures milk loaded into trailer
• Maintains positive communications with producers, listens for issues or potential problems, reports producers' comments to transportation and member services management

Competitive pay based on experience - additional $1 per hour from current wage
