Lead Driver
Location: Concord, MA
Pay: $21.00–$23.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week; some evening and weekend availability preferred

Pyramid Healthcare is a national leader in behavioral healthcare, providing compassionate, evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Lead Driver to join our Concord, MA team. In this role, you'll provide safe and reliable transportation for clients participating in our behavioral healthcare programs while also serving as a day-to-day resource for the Driver team.
The Lead Driver works closely with the Transportation Supervisor and/or Transportation Director to help coordinate daily transportation needs, support Drivers, assist with training, and ensure transportation services are safe, organized, and responsive to client and facility needs.
What You'll Do
- Safely transport clients to and from designated locations while providing professional and respectful service.
- Supervise and support clients during transportation and maintain a welcoming, supportive environment.
- Serve as a day-to-day resource for Drivers regarding routes, schedules, transportation procedures, and client needs.
- Assist with the orientation and training of newly hired Drivers, including modeling safe driving practices and organizational expectations.
- Assist with coordinating daily transportation assignments, routes, Driver availability, and coverage needs.
- Help adjust transportation assignments and schedules based on changing client, facility, and operational needs.
- Communicate transportation delays, coverage concerns, client or vehicle issues, safety concerns, and other operational matters to transportation leadership.
- Assist Drivers with transportation-related issues and escalate concerns to leadership when appropriate.
- Promote vehicle safety, cleanliness, inspections, documentation, and compliance with transportation procedures.
- Maintain accurate transportation records and assist with monitoring required documentation.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and assist Drivers in following established emergency procedures.
- Build positive and professional relationships with clients, Drivers, facility staff, and other team members.
- Promote teamwork, consistency, professionalism, and safe transportation practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling company and client information.
- Complete all required training and other duties as assigned.
About the Lead Driver Role
This position does not have formal supervisory authority. Instead, the Lead Driver provides day-to-day guidance, training, operational support, and workflow coordination to assigned Drivers.
You will have the opportunity to help support the Driver team, coordinate transportation needs, and serve as a reliable point of contact while working closely with transportation leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Driver's License in the state of employment.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a Driver or providing transportation services preferred.
- Experience providing transportation within a healthcare or behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain professional, dependable, and calm while responding to changing transportation and client needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Drivers, facility staff, clients, and transportation leadership.
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
