Australian specialist service provider that has been operating across both Australia
and internationally. Based in a world-class facility, they deliver leading multi-disciplined testing and consulting services across Australia. With operations and facilities spanning multiple states, they have
developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services across a
range of industries including aviation, defense, manufacturing, mining, oil and
gas, utilities, legal, insurance and loss assessing. Due to continued business
growth, they are now seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join
their engineering consulting team.
The Position...
Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for
the following:
- Performing root cause analysis for failed electrical equipment and
power systems (low, medium, and high voltage).
- Attending sites to inspect failed equipment and managing the chain
of custody.
- Preparing written technical reports for clients.
- Management of (including report reviewing) other Senior Electrical Engineers/Electrical
Engineers as the team grows.
- Conducting electrical performance and fire investigations.
- Providing expert witness services.
- Development of ongoing working
relationship with all relevant clients, organisations and individuals.
- Liaising with clients from end-to-end on specific jobs.
- Managing client details, job information and preparing quotes through CRM.
- Participating in the research and development of new business
initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate…
The ideal candidate must have the following:
- A degree in Electrical or Power
Systems Engineering. (mandatory)
- At least 5 years of industry
experience, either in engineering consulting, asset management,
electrical plant maintenance or failure investigations. (mandatory)
- Working knowledge of Australian
Standards relating to Electrical Safety. (mandatory)
- Strong communication skills – written and verbal (English).
- Ability to work autonomously and to deadlines.
- A curious, practical and logical thinker with strong
problem-solving skills.
- Be customer service focused,
including being capable of answering clients' technical questions and
interacting with the public.
- Experience across low, medium and high voltage and
components/equipment/assets.
- Ability to technically review and approve Forensic/Failure Analysis
Engineering reports.
- Ability to develop new business and manage new and existing client
relationships.
- Ability to manage the Electrical Engineering team.
- Be proficient in the use of MS
office software and cloud-based CRM applications.
- Willing and able to travel
locally and interstate as required for investigations.
- Professional Engineer Registration.
- Have own car and current driver’s license.
- Must have Australian working rights.
