Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead a team of five engineers, driving technical execution and team development.
• Design and manage end-to-end AWS architecture using Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Redis and Amazon EKS.
• Drive system architecture, scalability and cloud infrastructure decisions.
• Own security and privacy engineering, including authentication, authorisation, encryption and personal data protection.
• Design identity and access management systems, including anonymous access, account recovery, session management, SSO and role-based access control.
• Ensure secure coding practices, threat modelling and security reviews aligned with OWASP ASVS.
• Use AI coding agents for code generation, migrations, refactoring, testing and documentation.
• Define technical specifications, delegate tasks, review code and ensure quality delivery.
• Build scalable, cloud-portable applications for deployment across multiple sectors.
• Collaborate with the CTO and founder on technical strategy and architecture decisions.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of commercial software development experience, including 2+ years in engineering leadership.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot and Spring Security.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, IAM and cloud networking.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis/Valkey, distributed systems, messaging and microservices.
• Experience with React.js and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SSO, authentication and identity management.
• Experience in applied cryptography, AWS KMS, encryption, key rotation and password hashing.
• Knowledge of OWASP ASVS, threat modelling and application security.
• Practical experience with AI coding assistants and agents.
• Strong technical architecture, problem-solving, communication and team leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions.

Additional Advantage: Experience in healthcare, education, regulated-data environments, privacy engineering, GDPR or India's DPDP Act.
