Lead Front-end Engineer (React)

We are seeking a Lead Front-end Engineer (React) in Shenzhen, Chengdu or Guangzhou. You will guide a front-end team while staying hands-on, shaping React architecture, coding standards and delivery practices. You will partner with product, design and back-end teams to ship accessible, performant user experiences, improve testing and workflows and lead technical decisions through planning, release and support.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day front-end delivery, aligning priorities, dependencies and commitments across the team
• Define and evolve React architecture, coding standards and implementation patterns
• Build and maintain reusable UI components and user-facing features
• Break down requirements into technical tasks, support estimation and track progress and risks
• Partner with product, design, back-end, QA and platform teams to agree on technical solutions
• Review code and designs, provide actionable feedback and promote consistent practices
• Improve quality across testing, accessibility, performance, security and cross-browser behavior
• Troubleshoot complex defects and production issues, driving root-cause fixes and clear communication

Requirements

• Proven experience building production web applications with React
• Expertise in JavaScript and hands-on use of TypeScript in front-end development
• Technical leadership experience guiding front-end delivery, mentoring or setting engineering direction
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design and browser behavior
• Front-end architecture skills including component-based design, trade-offs and decision-making
• Experience integrating REST APIs, managing state and handling asynchronous data flows
• Testing and quality mindset including automated testing practices and code review standards
• Clear communication and problem-solving ability with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js, server-side rendering or micro-frontend architectures
• Familiarity with React Testing Library, Jest or similar testing tools
• Experience with design systems, component libraries, visual regression testing or CI/CD pipelines
