Lead Full-Stack Developer + Engineering Team Lead

$180k-$200k + Super | Sydney Hybrid | 2 days per week

We’re hiring for two separate senior engineering roles with an established Australian SaaS business.

Both sit within the same full-stack product environment, but suit two different career paths:

1. Lead Full-Stack Developer — a senior technical IC who wants to stay deeply hands-on.

2. Engineering Team Lead — a player-coach who enjoys leading engineers while remaining technically involved.

The environment includes C#/.NET, React, Angular and modern AI-assisted engineering tooling.

1. Lead Full-Stack Developer

$180k-$200k + super

This is a lead-level individual contributor role, not a people-management position.

You’ll take complex product features from an initial problem through design, development, testing and production, working across C#/.NET on the backend and React on the frontend.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Owning complex customer-facing features end to end

• Building across C#/.NET and React

• Solving ambiguous technical and product problems

• Mentoring and upskilling other engineers

• Working closely with Product and contributing to technical direction

• Using Claude Code, Codex or similar as part of your normal engineering workflow

You’ll bring:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Strong commercial C#/.NET and React

• Genuine full-stack product development experience

• A track record of independently owning features through to production

• Strong communication and technical influencing skills

They’re looking for a Lead/Principal-calibre engineer who wants significant technical ownership without moving away from hands-on development.

2. Engineering Team Lead

$190k-$200k + super

This is a genuine player-coach engineering leadership role.

You’ll lead a team of approximately 4–8 engineers while remaining involved in designing and building the product yourself.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching and developing engineers

• Owning team performance, delivery and technical outcomes

• Setting and raising engineering standards

• Staying hands-on across a full-stack product environment

• Working closely with Product on priorities and technical direction

• Identifying problems and actively driving solutions

You’ll bring:

• Engineering leadership experience, ideally including direct reports

• Strong full-stack software engineering capability

• React or Angular frontend experience

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals

• Excellent communication and influencing skills

• Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or Codex

.NET/C# experience is highly regarded but isn’t essential for the Team Lead if your wider backend engineering fundamentals are strong.
