Discussion

Summary

A hands-on Staff/Lead full-stack engineer seat at a Singapore fintech: set technical strategy across platform, APIs, data and front-end (Python backend, Angular, AWS, distributed systems), own cross-team systems end to end, drive standards via RFCs and mentoring, and still ship code as a senior IC.

Staff / Lead Full-Stack Engineer - Fintech · Singapore

infrastructure that moves data reliably at scale.

We're hiring a Staff / Lead Full-Stack Engineer to own systems that span teams, not a single service - the person who changes how engineering works here, not just what it ships.

What you'll own

  • Drive technical strategy for a domain across the full stack - the platform, the API surface, the data layer, the front-end architecture - not just features within one system
  • Own systems that span multiple squads, and be accountable for their reliability, performance, and evolution over time
  • Set technical standards that get adopted across engineering - through RFCs, design reviews, and the decisions others defer to
  • Act as the bridge between product strategy and technical execution: translate ambiguous business problems into concrete architecture
  • Raise the bar around you - mentor senior engineers, unblock other teams, and identify systemic problems before they become incidents
  • Stay hands-on: this is a senior IC seat, not a management role. You still ship.

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years of engineering experience, with a track record of technical influence across teams - not just deep ownership of one service
  • Strong across the stack: production depth in a backend language Python and modern front-end Angular, with the judgement to make architecture calls on both sides
  • Solid AWS and distributed-systems fundamentals - you've designed for scale and can talk through the trade-offs, the incidents, and what you'd do differently
  • Evidence you've driven a system-level design decision with org-wide impact, and got buy-in for it
  • You're the engineer other engineers seek out for technical guidance
  • Clear communicator - you can make technical complexity legible to non-technical stakeholders, including leadership
  • Preferred industry background: fintech, B2B infrastructure, payments, credit, treasury or another high-reliability, data-intensive domain. If you've built where correctness and uptime genuinely matter, that's what we're after.

Nice to have

  • AI-native engineer. You've built processes around AI, not just used the tools. Two signals we care about: AI-assisted development - you've used AI to genuinely optimise how your team ships (faster delivery, better quality, less operational toil), with a concrete before/after; and AI in the product - you've built self-sufficient AI agents or agentic workflows that do real work in production, not demos.
  • Experience defining architecture across both consumer and B2B surfaces at meaningful scale
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures, high-throughput data pipelines, or financial-grade systems

Why this role

  • Genuine scope from day one - this is a seat where you set direction across the org, not inherit a backlog
  • A high-trust, low-bureaucracy engineering culture where the best technical argument wins
