Lead Histopathology Technician

About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Anatomic Pathology Lab, working along side the WRNMMC civilian and military technicians; hours are 1500-2330.The candidate will be directing the daily workflow, resolving quality control issues, leading special projects, and reporting to the Histopathology Supervisor. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Perform non-routine, advanced and complex technical work involved in preparing human biological material for specialized diagnostic analyses.

Evaluate quality of laboratory services and processes, the adequacy of equipment, personnel and working accommodations through onsite inspections, audits, and review of reports.

Evaluate new procedures, techniques and tools to ensure performance is in accordance with governing regulatory and accreditation standards.

Direct the work of three or more civilian employees engaged in performing histopathology technician duties.

Prepare work schedule for and balance the workload of employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization.
