Salary: £39,000 - 62,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Significant experience working in a GRC role at a large, complex organisation
  • In-depth knowledge of information security and the ability to explain it to non-security and non-technical colleagues
  • Ability to build confidence and trust with stakeholders at all levels of the university
  • Willingness to share knowledge and experience with the rest of the team, especially helping junior colleagues develop and grow
  • Ability to think strategically for the long term while also understanding what needs to be done now
  • Experience working on change programmes, including security-focused initiatives and broader IT or organisational change programmes
  • Passion for working at an organisation that expands our knowledge of everything from the structure of the universe to the treatment of previously incurable conditions
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Head of a new Information Security Consulting Team within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance function
  • Help set the security standards for the university and lead the team in helping all of UCL meet these standards
  • Provide security support to core central IT teams, departmental teams, and researchers across the university
  • Help teams understand their security responsibilities
  • Mentor junior team members
  • Build on the security knowledge of key teams
  • Work across the university to protect UCL and the work it does in education and research
