Lead Instructor, Data & Analytics Engineering

About Edversity Edversity is a technology learning platform based at the National Science & Technology Park, NUST, Islamabad. We have trained more than 12,000 students through live programs in AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Blockchain, and emerging technologies. We are launching our Data & Analytics Engineering Program and are looking for an experienced industry practitioner to lead it.
The Role
You will deliver a 12-week, 96-hour live program designed to prepare learners for analytics engineering, BI development, and data platform roles. This is a practical teaching role. You will teach live sessions, review student work, run technical clinics, mentor capstone projects, and assess students for employer referrals. The role is designed to run alongside a full-time engineering job.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver three live teaching sessions each week
- Lead a weekly code review and technical defence clinic
- Review student assignments and projects
- Mentor students during capstone development
- Run a production-style data incident simulation
- Keep the curriculum aligned with current industry practices
- Help identify graduates ready for employer referrals

- CI/CD for data pipelines
- Semantic layers and governed metrics
- Apache Iceberg and lakehouse concepts

Requirements
- Four or more years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform roles
- Experience owning or supporting production data platforms
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Practical experience with dbt, cloud warehouses, and orchestration tools
- Experience handling production data incidents
- Understanding of dimensional modelling and metric governance
- Regular use of AI coding assistants
- Strong communication skills in English and Urdu
- Availability for fixed evening sessions for 12 consecutive weeks
Teaching experience, postgraduate qualifications, and vendor certifications are not required.
Time Commitment
Approximately 14 to 17 hours per week, including live sessions, preparation, reviews, and student support. You will be supported by practitioner reviewers and a full-time cohort manager.
