Lead Interdisciplinary (Lead Project Engineer)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serve as a Project/Office Engineer Team Leader and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for a multidisciplinary teams overseeing quality assurance and contract administration for complex construction projects.

Manages a significant portion of the District Construction Program as the Team Leader for a group of engineers, engineer technicians, and construction representatives.

Observes and investigates construction at all stages to identify problems, takes timely action to change designs or recommend modifications to designer and/or contract to solve problems.

Utilizing a professional knowledge and expertise of construction-related engineering fields (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.), serves as a Team Leader, exercising technical guidance over a group of engineers.

Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to ensure priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met.

Oversees quality assurance inspection of construction operations for compliance with plans and specifications; interprets plans and specifications; confers with contractor to resolve disputes.

Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for multiple complex construction projects.
