Lead Java Developer
In this role you guide the architecture, design and delivery of real-time and on-demand risk applications for the Credit business. You will align cross‑functional teams across London, NAM, and APAC to implement scalable, resilient tech that supports global markets. You drive modernization, analytics integration, and production stability on a strategic risk platform. - Lead delivery of Real-Time and On-Demand Risk enhancements by coordinating with trading, MQA, Market Risk, and technology teams
- Own end-to-end development lifecycle: architecture, design, testing strategies, releases, and production support
- Align RT/OD workflows with EOD Risk strategy and ensure parity and controlled cutover
- Lead adoption of RT/OD capabilities on strategic risk platform, integrating analytics, workflows, and datasets
- Improve performance of risk calculations and migrate compute workloads to AWS with scalable, scalable and cost-efficient practices
- Collaborate with NAM and APAC teams to improve delivery velocity and triage production incidents
- Provide updates, demos, documentation, and education to promote adoption of new capabilities
- Conduct root cause analysis on production issues and enhance monitoring and observability
- Strong experience in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Framework
- Exposure to Python scripting and data analysis
- Capital Markets Front Office technology experience with Fixed Income products
- Knowledge of Front Office Risk calculations for Credit products
- Experience building scalable distributed applications using Microservices, APIs, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Proficiency with messaging (Kafka, JMS, gRPC)
- Latency measurement and JVM performance optimization
- Observability stacks (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, Jaeger)
- Persistence technologies (relational, NoSQL, off-heap, distributed caches)
- Linux/Unix hands-on experience
- Experience with senior Quants and Technology Managers
