Lead Java Developer
Summary
Lead Java Developer on a 6-month rolling contract (up to $1100/day) with a financial services client in Sydney. You'll provide hands-on technical leadership building a cloud-native platform — designing and developing Java/Spring Boot microservices, owning the SDLC end to end, mentoring junior devs, and using Terraform in a greenfield environment.
Salary: Up to $1100 p.d.
We're currently looking for an extremely proficient, Lead Java Developer to join our financial services client in Sydney on a 6 month, rolling contract to help them build their cloud-native platform.
The role will encompass both hands-on engineering & leadership; you will lead technical delivery from initial system design through to development and production, while mentoring more junior devs and enhancing the team's overall capability and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Strong Core Java skills
- Experience developing high-performing APIs in Java/Spring Boot within scaled, cloud environments.
- Strong hands-on experience on Spring/Spring Boot
- Solid understanding of Microservices architecture
- Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS)
- Extensive experience with version control tools like Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD, code review
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform is essential - greenfield environment
