We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer to join a leading global organization in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java development, AWS cloud technologies, API development, CI/CD practices, and cloud-native application architecture.
This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale applications while contributing to digital transformation and modernization initiatives. The position will initially be offered as a contract role, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position based on performance and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architectural decisions.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud automation best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical leadership to development teams.
- Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- 5+ years of experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- 5+ years of experience with AWS Cloud services, including:
- ECS
- Lambda
- S3
- SQS
- SNS
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems, and scalable architectures.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
Nice to Have
- Frontend development experience with Angular, React, or similar frameworks.
- Containerization and Kubernetes experience.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
