Lead Java developer mentors a small team, designs architecture, and builds smart-farming software using Java, Spring, and SQL.
Overview
We are looking for a developer with excellent knowledge of Java craftsmanship, who can share knowledge and workshop with mid and junior developers. We are looking for a person with a high work ethic who will be able to build an organizational culture around himself based on high quality code. In this position, you will combine programming with the technical leadership of projects in the field of smart farming and the broadly understood R&D category. You will work with data scientists and scientific experts in agronomy. You will take part in designing software architecture and implementing critical functions, as well as having a real impact on the shape of the solution being developed.
Company size: 20 people
Salary: up to 18k UoP, or the B2B equivalent (130 PLN / h, ~ 30 EUR / h)
Responsibilities
- Leadership (approx. 50% of the time): running a project in Scrum / agile; allocating tasks and assigning priorities; technical verification (code review); ensuring effective internal communication in the development team; administering the project board in Jira; juniors and middles mentoring
- Development: Participation in creating software architecture; Programming
Requirements
- Java 8+, Hibernate, Spring / Dropwizard, SQL, JUnit, Mockito, Maven, Git, IntelliJ, Jenkins
- Others: Jira, Scrum, Team Player, Communication Skills, Proactivity, mentoring, Knowledge sharing, technical leadership, English
- Minimum one year of documented experience in managing a project team
- 5 years of proven experience in software development in Java technology
- Knowledge of designing software architecture
- English acquisition on the communicative level
- The ability to transfer knowledge to less experienced employees
- Ability to design databases and create systems based on SQL databases
- Soft competences: communicating decisions, making decisions, motivating teamwork, creativity and commitment
- Knowledge of the DevOps organizational culture is welcome
