Lead Java Engineer (Azure)

We are seeking a Lead Java Engineer who brings extensive backend development expertise along with a strong grasp of cloud-based architectures. The right candidate will have practical experience working with Java, Spring Boot, microservices and Azure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and support backend services leveraging Java and Spring Boot
• Develop scalable microservices and cloud-native solutions
• Design and manage RESTful APIs and integrations
• Work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, QA teams and business stakeholders
• Participate in system design, technical decision-making and architecture conversations
• Maintain high standards of code quality, performance, scalability and security
• Assist with deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of cloud-based applications

Requirements

• Proven expertise in Java and Spring Boot
• Background in designing and developing microservices
• Practical experience working with Azure
• Solid grasp of REST APIs, databases and distributed systems
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and current development practices
• Sound knowledge of unit testing and integration testing
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to Kafka or similar messaging systems
• Understanding of serverless services
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or infrastructure as code
