Lead CNC Machinist / Programmer

McGinley Manufacturing | Glenrock, Wyoming

McGinley Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Lead CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team in Glenrock, Wyoming. This position is ideal for a highly skilled machinist who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, programming advanced CNC equipment, and working alongside an experienced team of machinists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC machining centers, with a strong emphasis on 5-axis machining.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs, tooling strategies, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Produce complex, tight-tolerance precision components while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Improve cycle times, setup times, tool life, and overall machining performance.
  • Assist other machinists with technical challenges, setups, and programming.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and manufacturing leadership to improve processes.
  • Support continuous improvement, automation, and increased machine utilization.
  • Help develop and mentor machinists while contributing to a strong, team-oriented shop environment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of CNC machining experience
  • Extensive CNC programming experience
  • Strong 5-axis CNC machining experience required
  • Advanced knowledge of tooling, fixturing, workholding, speeds and feeds, and machining strategies
  • Ability to independently take complex parts from print through programming, setup, first article, and production
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and precision measurement
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with tight tolerances and complex components
  • Strong attention to quality, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Ability to work effectively with an experienced team of machinists

Experience in medical device, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated precision manufacturing is highly desirable.
