Lead Medical Insurance Technician (Office Automation)

Leads, plans, directs and schedules the work of Medical Insurance Technicians (OA).

Makes changes in work schedules to accommodate peak workload periods.

Assigns work to be accomplished and instructs employee in work processes and procedures and provides technical assistance.

Conducts pre-admission processing of all non-active duty Uniformed Services beneficiaries scheduled for inpatient treatment or same day surgery.

Interviews, explains and answers questions regarding the TPC Program to patients and their insurance companies. Explains options, entitlements, billing procedures, benefits and rights.

Assists patients in completing insurance forms.

Prepares and processes insurance billing documents for inpatient hospital claims using an automated billing system.

Analyzes Accounts Receivable for assigned claims to determine status of claims errors or obstacles that could delay/prevent payment
