LEAD MEDICAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT
The Lead Medical Support Assistant will perform duties as part of a multi-disciplinary team that consists of Dental Physicians, Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienist, and other administrative staff members and multiple non-VA medical care providers. The team provides most of the healthcare needs for assigned primary and specialty care services and works collaboratively with other members of an expanded health care team to provide a robust interdisciplinary approach to care.

Makes workload assignments. Reviews and manages the phones/ACD lines. Resolves workplace issues and maintains efficient workflow. Provides staff orientation and on-the-job training, developing SOPs. Reviews the quality of work performed. Serves as a knowledge reference. Identifies and participates in performance improvement/systems redesign projects. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade). Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
