Job description:

Position Summary:
The Lead Mitigation Technician is responsible for overseeing field crews during water, fire, smoke, and biohazard remediation projects. This role ensures that work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards and IICRC guidelines. The Lead Technician provides hands-on support while directing technicians, managing job site documentation, and serving as the primary point of contact between the field crew and the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily on-site activities for water, fire, smoke, and biohazard losses.
  • Direct and support mitigation technicians in performing demolition, cleaning, equipment setup, and monitoring.
  • Ensure that all work follows safety standards, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
  • Maintain job site documentation, including photos, notes, equipment logs, and moisture readings.
  • Communicate job progress and issues to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
  • Assist with pack-out and inventory of customer belongings when required.
  • Conduct quality checks to confirm projects meet company and industry standards.
  • Train and mentor technicians on proper techniques, safety protocols, and customer service.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, ensuring they are organized and in good working order.
  • Serve as the professional point of contact for customers on the job site, addressing questions and providing updates.
Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in mitigation, restoration, or construction.
  • Prior leadership experience in the field preferred.
  • IICRC certifications (WRT, FSRT) required or must be obtained within a set timeframe.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor in various environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
  • Ability to coach and train others while holding them accountable to company standards.
Work Environment:

  • Field-based role with frequent travel to job sites.
  • Requires evening, weekend, and on-call availability for emergency response.
  • Exposure to water, smoke, and other environmental hazards with required PPE provided.
  • Reports directly to the Project Manager.
