Lead Mobile Engineer

Requirements:

• Mobile: React Native, TypeScript.
• Native: Swift (iOS), Kotlin (Android).
• Infrastructure and Ops: Monorepo, GitHub Actions, Fastlane.
• Testing and Monitoring: Vitest/Jest, Detox/Appium, Sentry, Firebase.
• AI-Assisted Development: AI coding assistants and modern AI-enabled engineering workflows.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience building and shipping mobile applications from inception to production.
• Strong production experience with React Native and a deep understanding of its architecture, capabilities, limitations, and technical trade-offs.
• Demonstrated ownership of mobile application architecture: making independent technical decisions for production systems, leading design discussions, and establishing engineering standards and practices.
• Experience owning production quality end-to-end: performance optimisation, reliability, automated testing, release engineering, and operating apps in production with crash reporting, observability, and incident response.
• Experience guiding and mentoring engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and complex problem-solving while maintaining high engineering quality.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills: partnering with product and design, challenging assumptions constructively, balancing technical and business considerations, and aligning geographically distributed teams, including Japan-based stakeholders.
