Lead .NET Developer (Full-Stack)

We arelooking tojoin anexperienced Lead .NET Engineer tojoin aninternational project focused ondeveloping andmodernising anestablished lending platform used byfinancial institutions across theUK andEurope.

Initially, you will focus onhands-on full-stack development, delivering changes across acomplex system built primarily onC#, .NET Framework 4.x, ASP.NET andSQL Server, withsome legacy components using Delphi 7 andCOM/COM+.

Overtime, your role will evolve towards technical leadership, architectural improvements andAI adoption. You will help shape theplatform’s technical direction, support theexisting development team andcontribute toits future growth.

We arelooking forsomeone whocombines strong engineering expertise withtechnical leadership experience, understands complex legacy systems andknows howtomodernise them without disrupting existing business operations.

Your Daily Missions

• Developing andmaintaining acomplex lending platform using C#, .NET Framework 4.x, ASP.NET andSQL Server.
• Delivering full-stack changes end toend, fromrequirements analysis through implementation, testing andcode review.
• Developing andoptimising T-SQL stored procedures, SQL Server Agent jobs anddatabase queries.
• Maintaining APIs, integrations andbackground-processing services.
• Working withlegacy components, including Delphi 7, COM/COM+ andVB.NET, where required.
• Improving code quality, system architecture andmaintainability through incremental modernisation.
• Using AI coding assistants fordevelopment, code analysis, troubleshooting andtechnical documentation.
• Collaborating withdevelopers, business analysts andstakeholders todeliver reliable solutions.
• Gradually taking ownership oftechnical architecture, engineering standards andtheproduct’s technical direction.
• Mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge andsupporting theadoption ofAI-assisted development practices.

TheEssentials We’re Seeking

• Strong commercial experience withC# and.NET Framework 4.x, including production application development andmaintenance.
• Advanced knowledge ofSQL Server andT-SQL, including stored procedures, query optimisation andSQL Server Agent jobs.
• Experience developing andmaintaining REST APIs, system integrations andbackground-processing services.
• Experience working withcomplex legacy systems andmodernising existing applications incrementally.
• Previous experience as aTech Lead orSoftware Architect, including architectural decisions, engineering standards andmentoring developers.
• Ability totake technical ownership, influence decisions andintroduce improvements within experienced development teams.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex orsimilar) indaily development, including critical validation ofgenerated code.
• Commercial experience inaregulated orfinancial domain, such as lending, banking, payments, insurance, consumer credit, collections orKYC/AML.
• Understanding ofauditability, change control, data integrity andcompliance requirements inregulated environments.
• Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills, aproactive mindset andtheability towork independently.
• Experience withDelphi 7, COM/COM+, VB, VB.NET, classic ASP orXSLT.
• Knowledge ofolder Angular applications orSignalR.
• Experience withSOAP/ASMX, Windows Services, RabbitMQ, MSMQ, IBM MQ, XML orEDI.
• Experience migrating applications from.NET Framework tomodern .NET.
• Experience inlending, asset finance, consumer credit ordebt collection.
• Knowledge ofSEPA, UK Direct Debit, card payments orfinancial system integrations.
• Familiarity withIdentityServer, ASP.NET Identity, Redis, Adobe Sign orDocuSign.
• Experience withAzure DevOps, TeamCity orOctopus Deploy.
• Previous experience working inasoftware product company orsoftware vendor environment.
