Lead Network Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Network Engineer based in India.
This role offers the opportunity to lead enterprise networking initiatives within a global technology and IT services environment.
You will work across complex Cisco routing, switching, and data center infrastructures supporting international operations.
The position combines hands-on network engineering with automation, migration delivery, and technical leadership.
You will contribute to large-scale infrastructure migrations, including projects within highly demanding financial services environments.
The role requires collaboration across AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions, providing exposure to global teams and diverse technical landscapes.
You will also help drive modern network operations through Python, Ansible, Terraform, and REST API-based automation.

Accountabilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network environments based on Cisco Enterprise Routing & Switching technologies.
- Manage and support Cisco Nexus Data Center platforms across complex enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Lead and contribute to large-scale network and infrastructure migration projects, including environments supporting financial services organizations.
- Provide technical leadership and coordination for global networking teams operating across multiple regions.
- Support network automation and programmability initiatives using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to plan and execute infrastructure changes safely and efficiently.
- Participate in scheduled migration and maintenance windows, including 12-hour weekend activities when required, following established vendor rotation and compensatory-off policies.
- Ensure network operations and project activities align with global enterprise security, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and contribute to maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure.
- Support continuous improvement of networking processes, automation practices, and operational standards.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking, particularly Cisco Enterprise Routing & Switching and Cisco Nexus Data Center platforms.
- CCNP certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of network automation and programmability, including Python, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale enterprise infrastructure migrations, ideally within financial services or similarly complex environments.
- Previous experience leading or managing global technical teams.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking principles, infrastructure operations, and data center environments.
- Ability to work effectively across AMER, EMEA, and APAC business hours and collaborate with globally distributed teams.
- Willingness and ability to participate in scheduled 12-hour weekend migration windows as required.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within strict enterprise security, background verification, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
- Strong ownership, leadership, organization, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
