Summary

Remote lead role architecting and delivering VMware-to-OpenShift migrations: designs and installs bare-metal OpenShift 4.x clusters, deploys OpenShift Virtualization, defines day-2 operations, and produces runbooks, cutover and rollback plans handed over to the client team.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Lead discovery and produce the target architecture, migration plan, and validation criteria
  • Design and install bare-metal OpenShift clusters
  • Deploy OpenShift Virtualization and migrate VMs from VMware
  • Define day-2 operations: upgrades, monitoring, backup and restore
  • Coordinate storage and network integration with the respective engineers
  • Deliver a proof of concept before production migration waves
  • Produce runbooks, cutover and rollback plans, and hand over to the client team


Requirements


Requirements
  • 3+ years OpenShift 4.x in production, including self-hosted bare-metal deployments
  • Completed at least one VMware to OpenShift Virtualization migration
  • Strong Kubernetes fundamentals: networking, RBAC, security, operators
  • Experience with enterprise block storage on OpenShift
  • Experience with phased migrations on live production environments
  • Red Hat OpenShift certification or verifiable project references
  • Fluent English

Preferred
  • Multi-cluster management (ACM)
  • F5, IBM storage, or Cisco networking exposure
  • Migration from legacy Kubernetes or OpenShift 3
