About the Community
Moosic is a close-knit suburban community in northeast Pennsylvania’s Lackawanna County, between Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. It offers small-town character with easy access to city amenities, the Poconos and major routes to NYC and Philadelphia. Moosic is part of the Ridge and Valley province of the Appalachian Mountains.

About the Church
Moosic Alliance Community Church has served this region since 1973. It is debt-free and averages 50–100 in Sunday attendance. The vision of the church is to walk as Jesus walked. Their missions it to point people to Christ, build them up in Christ, and equip them to serve for Christ.

The Opportunity
We’re seeking a lead pastor who will partner with the elders and leaders to develop disciples who make disciples. You’ll build a clear pathway for people to get connected, grow, serve, be cared for, multiply, and reach the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Preach and teach the Word of God
• Lead alongside the elders in vision, direction and discipleship strategy
• Provide pastoral care and shepherding to the congregation
• Identify, equip and release leaders
• Lead the church in outreach to the Moosic area

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher, or at least 30 credit hours in Bible, theology and ministry
• Preferred: 5+ years of pastoral staff experience (or equivalent ministry experience)
• Must be willing to pursue licensing and ordination with The Christian and Missionary Alliance

Compensation
Full-time salary, health coverage, parsonage, and additional benefits to be discussed.

The History
In the 1890s, Rev. William T. MacArthur was sent to plant a church in the Pittston area. Using innovative “cell church” methods, the movement spread across northeast Pennsylvania and planted daughter churches in Duryea, Avoca, Glendale and Moosic. More than 40 people from this movement went into full-time ministry, missions, and Christian education. We pray God will do it again.
